Digital maturity framework and app
Enabling Greenpeace to track digital maturity around the world
The challenge
Greenpeace International wanted to assess and improve the digital maturity of all of their national and regional offices and staff around the world. But they lacked a framework or a way of measuring and reporting.
The work
We worked with Greenpeace to develop a digital maturity framework, measuring skills and understanding across 15 different criteria and tying the measures of maturity into their existing digital thinking.
We built a slick online application so that all Greenpeace staff around the world can measure and report on the scores of all their global offices, with live updating graphs.
We subsequently created a second version of the tool, which allows comparisons not just between different offices but also across time. This gives Greenpeace the ability to see where different offices are right now and also how their digital maturity in different areas is improving over time.
We also created an online handbook for staff around the world, to help them use the tool to measure and improve their digital maturity.
The result
Thousands of submissions have been made to the digital maturity application by Greenpeace staff all around the world.
Greenpeace have a great resource to compare strengths and weaknesses and to track progress with data and graphs.
They also have a framework to shape people’s understanding of the complexities of digital maturity.
